All About Testing Time

Testing Time is a usability testing site where testers are paid as much as US$60 per hour to complete simple usability testing tasks. As a worker, you receive testing gigs from different websites to which you’ll provide feedback. Although the platform is based in Zurich, Switzerland, it accepts testers worldwide – their website doesn’t mention any geographical restrictions. There are also French and German versions of the website for convenience purpose.

Eligibility
Although you can freely join the service, it doesn’t mean you can work on every available gig – there are few requirements that you must satisfy.

Basically, TestingTime.com will only give you tests that match your demographic profile. Some of the company’s biggest clients are named at the bottom of the website.

If you are situated in a specific area where the test needs to be conducted, TestingTime will offer you two options: face to face testing and remote/online testing. Remote testing would require you to have a stable internet connection, Skype ID –which you should share with TestingTime – and a webcam. More important of all, you’ll need to be easily available, especially when the test needs to take place and a specific time.

As you can see, testers don’t need to possess any specific knowledge or skills; it is a platform for everyone. The only thing you need to ensure is constant availability. One thing worth mentioning, however, is that, as it is traditional with usability testing sites, all feedback sessions are recorded. You can opt-out of the service altogether if you object to having the session recorded.

What you need to do

If you feel that you have a lot of time in your hands, just create a profile with the site in 3 or so minutes and confirm your email. TestingTime will send alerts to your email when a gig is available for you. You can expect as much as 3 gigs in a week each with different length and payment.
